Description:
This model P was made in the third year of Royal portable production. This is just one example of the many crazy and creative colors Royal made. This one is maroon alligator skin, I think.
According to the embossed label on the front, this belonged to Harold E. Patton, and a note on the inside says the rubber was replaced in 1958. Neat!
UPDATE: Once I got a fresh ribbon in there and started to use it, I realized how loud this machine really is. When it is at work, I can hear it echo in the air vents.
Also, this one is really rough on ribbons. The one I just put in it is already full of holes!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
