1928 Royal P Serial # P88911 1928 Royal P typewriter, Serial # P88911 James Ashe's 1928 Royal P typewriter. 2025-03-27 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of James Ashe: 1928 Royal P Serial # P88911 I had to have this chrome duo-tone Royal P. I don't mind the green (it's like someone mixed avocado and mint paint) unfortunately the paint is heavily chipped on one side. The chrome is in quite good condition. The rollers and platen are in decent shape as well and it types nicely without any work being done. The case isn't in the best condition and is missing the handle. I'll probably source another Royal P or two for a typer. I've only see 6 other chromed Royal Model P and was immensely surprised to see this for sale.

Typeface is Pica and the alignment is quite good with the 61 period test. New nylon ribbon with construction paper backing.

Rear of the machine. My best guess is that the normal graphic (which I presume to be a water-slide) was never affixed as I see no 'shadow' or evidence of it.

CU of the paper support and margin cover. Decal worn but still visible. Not sure if the paper gage is missing or was never included on this variant. Paper bail rollers are nice and the platen is clearly used but in excellent shape.

Occasional typewriter user and 'variety accumulator' but not a serious collector.

My first typewriter was a SCM Galaxie/Classic that I bought at a thrift store in Middle School. Taught myself how to use it without the manual. Used it for school work that needed to be entered into print-outs. I liked the machine, although it is heavy, but I always hated the case.

Recently, something awakened in me and I have been finding a few modest projects and interesting machines to try manual typing again.
