Description:
The branding is Merz No. 3 but much is still Merz No. 2. The switch buttons, the keyboard, the ribbon switch, the cariage is all Model No. 2.
It seems to be only the case already Model No. 3, as far as I could compare.
The typewriter was broken and dirty when she arrived. I wanted to expand only spare parts. But I made the decision to repair them. But how? I started my project "3D printing". It was hard work but successful. I have learned a lot about this typewriter and its technique. Now she writes again.

I am fascinated by the mechanics of the various typewriters. I love the challenge to repair even severe cases. I'm trying to preserve the testimonies of the history of the typewriters.
I live near Dresden, so I am interested especially for the history of Seidel & Naumann AG and the typewriters model 'Erika' before and after the 2nd World War produced in Dresden.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Merz 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Merz Serial Number page and the Merz 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
