1928 Blickensderfer-Odoma 2 Serial # 8165 1928 Blickensderfer-Odoma 2 typewriter, Serial # 8165 Javier Vazquez del Olmo's 1928 Blickensderfer-Odoma 2 typewriter. 2021-01-02 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Javier Vazquez del Olmo: 1928 Blickensderfer-Odoma 2 Serial # 8165 You don't bump into one of these every day. In fact, I was lucky to find this interesting typewriter in october 2019, and while the condition is just... bad (let's face it, the large crack in the platen which I've slyly hidden in the photos is an enormous problem) I couldn't let it go. Maybe it won't type again, maybe I manage to somehow fix it, but for now it stays in a safe environment, away from the dangers of neglection.

I find this typewriter not beautiful, but eye-catching. Compact, tall, sturdy and not refined at all.

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98. Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter only returned home in 2017, almost 20 years later, when he wanted a better typewriter.

A collection that started small grew into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
