Description:
I bought the Urania No.5 typewriter together with the Stoewer Record from 1922 and the Continental from 1936 from an old lady in Lörach. The Urania is just like the Stoewer Record and the Continental in a very good condition, apparently the lady has taken care of all three typewriters very well. The machine has a German keyboard but it also has a $ sign, why is that on a German keyboard?

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Urania 5 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Urania Serial Number page and the Urania 5 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
