1927 Urania 5 Serial # 92074 1927 Urania 5 typewriter, Serial # 92074 Lukas Klein's 1927 Urania 5 typewriter. 2023-03-30 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Lukas Klein: 1927 Urania 5 Serial # 92074 I bought the Urania No.5 typewriter together with the Stoewer Record from 1922 and the Continental from 1936 from an old lady in Lörach. The Urania is just like the Stoewer Record and the Continental in a very good condition, apparently the lady has taken care of all three typewriters very well. The machine has a German keyboard but it also has a $ sign, why is that on a German keyboard?

I bought the Urania No.5 typewriter together with the Stoewer Record from 1922 and the Continental from 1936 from an old lady in Lörach. The Urania is just like the Stoewer Record and the Continental in a very good condition, apparently the lady has taken care of all three typewriters very well. The machine has a German keyboard but it also has a $ sign, why is that on a German keyboard?

This gear provides the drive of the ribbon, this wheel is moved by spear pawls that move when you press a button. The ribbon is therefore moved every time a write key is pressed (not the space bar), and not, as is the case with other typewriters, by the movement of the carriage spring housing, as for example with the Triumph.
