Description:
An earlyish Royal Portable in fairly good nick, excepting a platen which could have been hewn out of granite it's so hard. Has an unfortunate tendency to chew up its ribbon as a result.
Came in a job lot with a pair of size 12 Doc Martens; not sure about the shoes, but this typewriter definitely suits my aesthetic sensibilities. I wonder about its history as it has a 'rupees' key.
As with every other darn typewriter I own it's in need of a good clean.
Sold May 2019.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
