1927 Royal P Serial # P-9x58 1927 Royal P typewriter, Serial # P-9x58 Jennifer Grube's 1927 Royal P typewriter. 2018-05-10 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Jennifer Grube: 1927 Royal P Serial # P-9x58 Purchased for the sole use of being a parts machine for my '37 O. Unfortunately, the escapement was a bit different and unable to be used. After looking at it for a while, I decided to try and clean/repair it.

I have managed to get everything moving freely again, but there is still a lot of cleaning to go. It is currently sitting in pieces, waiting to be finished.

**The serial number is in bad shape on the machine, and we can not determine if the second digit is a 3 or an 8.

I caught the typewriter bug when I fell in love with an Underwood 5. A few months later and I am now up to 10 typewriters, with the majority consisting of Royal P's and O's. I keep telling myself that "this is the last one", but we all know how that goes..

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
