Description:
I never saw a typewriter-like: It seems an ordinary LCSmith 8/10 until one reads under the spacebar "The Silent Smith".
Then one realizes that the entire mechanism is wrapped in celluloid (a front plate and two at the sides).
I disassembled the machine for cleaning and to take pictures where you can see this feature.
Does anyone know another LCSmith closed with celluloid? If so, please let me know.
This feature may be an aftermarket modification from the representative in Argentina of LCSmith "Pratt & Co.," because I could find a newspaper notice attached hereto which also mentions "The Silent Smith".
The state of the typewriter is excellent, the enamel is spotless, it is complete and can be used to type with ease and confort. And it is silent, also.
