Description:
This typewriter was purchased used by my grandmother Barbara Dodd from a certified (?) Royal repair shop. It has some sort of special sticker or emblem on the back that indicates it is a refurbished model, resold by a Royal affiliated shop. I believe it was purchased in the early 30's but I am not certain.
One interesting feature on this typewriter is that it has a wooden space bar.
This typewriter is also missing its original ribbon spools.
As a youngster I used to play on this typewriter in my grandmothers living room in a tiny rural town in Missouri called Bourbon.
Bourbon was named that because railroaders used to hide Bourbon under a bridge there. They would stop in Bourbon and drink before they made their official stop in Sullivan, MO.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
