Description:
1926 Corona Four. This machine is in alright shape. It types and is in great working working condition for its age. I've added some new padding to this machine and flushed out the basket mechanism with mineral spirits and an air gun. The body also needed to be cleaned and polished.
It types well, but I wish I could type faster on it. I think it will take a few more rounds of cleaning the basket to reduce the "mushy" feeling in the keys.

I'm a software engineer in the Chicagoland area. I've been collecting "vintage" vinyl, computers, mechanical keyboards and typewriters since I was a kid. Born into an analog world, but grew up in a digital one.
My wife is a writer and I enjoy problem solving and puzzles, so naturally fixing I fell in love with fixing and maintaining typewriters and she then gets to enjoy all of these machines!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Corona Four on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Corona Serial Number page and the Corona Four By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
