Description:
My first Corona 4. Its quite interesting how much of the Corona 3 is in this machine. The escapement isnt working, so the carriage wants to fly to the left, and I hope it's not a serious problem.
Update: It was a serious problem. The escapement tooth was broken off, and exploratory efforts lead me to beleive that my Corona 3 parts will not be usable as replacement. Alas, poor Corona.
Update to the Update: Further exploration revealed that a Corona 3 escapement tooth would actually work on this machine. Even more exploration revealed that my only parts corona 3 has, itself, a broken escapement tooth. Curse you, Achilles heel of Corona portable typewriters!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Corona 4 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Corona Serial Number page and the Corona 4 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
