1926 Adler Klein-Adler Serial # 315125 1926 Adler Klein-Adler typewriter, Serial # 315125 Kevin Stallaert's 1926 Adler Klein-Adler typewriter. 2021-09-05 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kevin Stallaert: 1926 Adler Klein-Adler Serial # 315125 I had found this pretty machine on Facebook marketplace. The decals are all gone, leaving only a shadow. Not too much rust is visible, with exception of the right side of the platen. It was sold by a thrift shop. The lady in charge said they had it appraised and it was valued at 400 to 1000 euros. The sticker price on it was 250 euro, but it was advertised on Facebook at 123 euro. When I notified the lady of that, she told me I could take it for 120 euro. Needless to say I took it home with me.

The paint looks OK, but there are some "bubbles" on the right side of the thrust mechanism cover. I'll need to do a thorough clean up first before assessing what I will need to strip and have repainted.

The case used to have a logo as well, that you can faintly see when you look at it from the right angle.

I fell into the typewriter rabbit hole due to nostalgia: I used to have a massive Olympia SG1 when I was a kid. It formed my typing habits, which is why I am called a "furious typer" by my coworkers. Came across the r/typewriters page on Reddit which rekindled my love for these wonderful machines. Lets just hope I don't start pushing screens off my desk when I reach the end of a line...

I also have a modest Youtube channel where I document the progress of my typewriter journey: https://www.youtube.com/@Slug_Life

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler Klein-Adler on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler Klein-Adler By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
