1925 Underwood 5 Serial # 1993345-5 1925 Underwood 5 typewriter, Serial # 1993345-5 Jacob Finch's 1925 Underwood 5 typewriter. 2025-10-09 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Jacob Finch: 1925 Underwood 5 Serial # 1993345-5 I came upon this machine on Facebook Marketplace one late evening, at that point in time it had just been listed 35 minutes prior to my discovery of it. I immediately contacted the seller and bought the machine from him. A week later I had my friend drive me over to the seller's place to pick it up and bring it home. The journey was long and a bit rough owing to the incredibly rural nature of the area, it was in the middle of a heavily forested mountain range. Fortunately, the typewriter arrived home with me, safe and sound. It's not in the best condition, but I've seen worse. The keys have some yellowing on them but they all work fine, all it needs is some chemical clean and replacement rubber feet and feed rollers.

The front panel is coated in some sort of crinkle paint, I assume it's a rework from the 1930s, but I can clearly see that beneath that is the old paint.
