1924 L.C. Smith 3 Serial # 72759-3 1924 L.C. Smith 3 typewriter, Serial # 72759-3 David Richman's 1924 L.C. Smith 3 typewriter. 2025-06-09 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of David Richman: 1924 L.C. Smith 3 Serial # 72759-3 I believe this may have been converted to military use at some point.
Its totaled, a pinion broke off, and now the carriage doesn't advance.
It dose look and feel a hole lot like a Smith Corona Silent secretarial though. After sitting on my floor for about a year I finally got in donated to a local typwriter shop.

Hi, I started collecting typewriters in my early teens . One day I stumbled across an antique store on my way home, I saw a typewriter outside the shop and I urged my Mother to pull over so I could check it out. I don't know where this intrigue can from but after that machine I became fascinated with them. I figured I should mention that, most people seem to get into this hobby for nostalgia, I just like mechanical things.
I started a Youtube channel called The Jersey Type
