I have conducted spectrometric analysis on the components of my Orga A38 machine, comparing them against a standard 1923 model. The chemical composition analysis revealed significant discrepancies: one of the calculator components contains 54% iron, whereas the other—as verified by my photographic documentation—is composed of an iron alloy with an iron content as high as 86%.
These results strongly suggest that my Orga A38 is a verification prototype dating back to 1908. This thesis contradicts the official stance of museums and the IFHB forum, which consistently date the inception of the first Orga Standard machines to 1921. This implies that either these institutions are overlooking the fact that Bing Werke possessed a finished design as early as 1908, or that official catalogs contain historical inaccuracies—which, in light of the existence of the A38 specimen, calls the established chronology of these machines into question.
