1923 Hermes 2 Serial # 1074 1923 Hermes 2 typewriter, Serial # 1074 Georg Sommeregger's 1923 Hermes 2 typewriter. 2020-07-17 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Georg Sommeregger: 1923 Hermes 2 Serial # 1074 I was very lucky to score another Hermes 2 at a recent auction - after all, it was the first standard typewriter successfully produced in Switzerland (we still need to research in depth about the mythical Nr. 1, "La Favorite"). Only about 1000 machines were built.
It is complete apart from the original ribbon spools, and the rewind key on the back. Nice details: the patented tabulator setting which can be operated from the front, plus a built-in letter spacing function.
