Description:
Just got this 1922 L.C. Smith & Bros. "up and running" again. All the usual things were needed: a few missing screws, a draw-band, some new feed-rollers, etc. I have been into the desktop size stuff lately, and it is easier to find a "deal" on desktop antiques then portables. IDK, the portables just don't have what a big machine does: plus the EBay competition is much less.

After finding a Smith-Corona Coronet 12 at a curb-side (in Winter while walking the dog) I carried it home; after it thawed out and started coming back to life I was hooked. My interest in this hobby lead to taking two parts typewriters to create one good unit. This typewriter aliment is (pretty much) in-curable!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the L.C. Smith 8 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the L.C. Smith Serial Number page and the L.C. Smith 8 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
