Description:
Very fine Typewriter.
Purchased it at a flee market for 6€.
Somebody "painted" it with a oily paint, so it was free of rust, although it was not stored dry and save.
much work to remove this oily dump and polish that nice and shiny paint-work that i love on machines in this age.
The keys are filled with oil and there are heavy to read, because the paper is brown.
Very nice typeface with lots of special keys like
1/2 and M for Reichsmark.
Needs a 16mm ribbon, that i can't find!
The 13mm ribbon don't work very well, on red the
types are half black.

Collector of machines from 1910's to 1960's.
Mostly german typewriters.
The design is always important for me, first it must be nice,
than look if it writes well or not.
I Always get a cheap purchase of poor condition-maschines,
so i have to clean, oil, polish and repair.
Try to save the present condition, no Restauration to new-condition.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Mercedes 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Mercedes Serial Number page and the Mercedes 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
