Description:
There's a reason for (mostly) everything in this life, so there was a reason for the appealing price tag on this Century 10: missing paper table. One of the most noticeable features of this typewriter, because of its size and the beautiful decal on it.
So, if you put that piece out of the equation you suddenly have a more or less working Century 10 for a pittance. Fine by me, if it types it's good. The typewriter is an interesting middle point between portables and full fledged standard typewriters. It has the looks of a large typewriter but has only 3 banks (a feature of portables). The main issue here are the horribly aligned caps. The figures are alright, although seeing how bad the cas are I was expecting the opposite. I'll see if I can fix it, but I'm in no hurry.

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98. Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter only returned home in 2017, almost 20 years later, when he wanted a better typewriter.
A collection that started small grew into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Century 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Century Serial Number page and the Century 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
