Description:
This was my wife's grandfather's machine, handed down to her. It was rather a mess after being neglected for the requisite number of decades - the usual for these machines in other words. It is my only standard and weighs in at some serious tonnage. It's rehab included new key legends, new decals, new paint/lacquer and a replacement platen from another parts machine. Not to mention a thorough cleaning, de-nicotining, lube job and adjustments. As it was technically hers, my wife pitched in on the work for a good amount of the project. Everything works well, even the bell. I left the original patent number decal as a sort-of permanent before and after comparison.
