Description:
Just getting her working was really something. There was a bind in the ribbon drive gear assembly under the typewriter; figured it out and fixed the gear's meshing properly again. This is a fun feeling machine. Update 8/20/2022- sold this machine as part of a four-typewriter deal to a couple from Illinois.

I've fixed and sold many typewriters. There are three that I love to use for writing: 1930 Underwood No.5. 195 1 Remington Quiet-Riter, 1971 Hermes 3000.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal 5 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal 5 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
