Description:
This is my second Imperial B.
In comparison between both, this one has, on the right side, an additional keylever, unmarked and non operative.
I guess it is a backspace, but (as nothing happens when you depress the key, more than an inside movement of levers) I can not state for sure its real function. An user Manual (what I don't have) will reveal useful. Or, perhaps, another collector with a similar model will be able to bring me a helping hand.
The papel table decal is in perfect condition. The "B IMPERIAL B" decal is blurred, as the corresponding pictures show clearly.
I have no ribbon for this one, but it operates smoothly at each stroke of the keys. Guess just needs a new ribbon.
The black paint is partially absent, particulary at the base of the typewriter.
Why I bought a second Imperial B?: It was offered for sale, many months ago, in a local website at around US$ 500. The time passes and with no offers at all the price lowers until $ 200. Then I've offered $ 140 and my offer was accepted. And here it is, after the first TLC session :-)

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Imperial B on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Imperial Serial Number page and the Imperial B By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
