1914 Corona 3 Serial # 369100 1914 Corona 3 typewriter, Serial # 369100 Rolf Boone's 1914 Corona 3 typewriter. 2020-02-04 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Rolf Boone: 1914 Corona 3 Serial # 369100 A lovely typewriter with an interesting backstory. The seller, a woman in her 60s or 70s, said her grandfather, born in 1896, used this machine to type up receipts when he worked for the postal service. Please see the typeface sample: Is the spacing by design or do I have a problem on my hands? Type slugs are really long, making room for lower-case and upper-case letters, as well as symbols. Update: A piece of metal has broken, affecting the escapement. Looks like I'm stuck with double spacing. Perfect for ransom notes, I guess. :)

Spotted a Royal KMG at a thrift store one day and it became a surprising source of inspiration.
