Description:
This was offered to me at the killer price of $50 from a friend who misunderstood me when I said I was looking for a radio mill. I wanted something WW2 era, but this is MUCH cooler though I am still casually looking for a radio mill too. It is pretty good to type on though much of the machine reveals its age. The red panel on the front (looks a tad orange in the pictures) was one of the distinguishing characteristic of a Western Union mill, another being the specific serial number. It was repainted by the previous owner but is an exact match which I can see because the backside of the panel appears to be unmolested. I am very pleased to have this amazing machine in my collection!
Though there is a tag on the machine which has a date I saw the same date on another Underwood so it is unlikely it is the date of manufacture.
