Description:
I bought this Old Stoewer typewriter in a museum. Unfortunately, the serial number is missing so that the year of manufacture is not one hundred percent certain, but based on technical details I assume that this typewriter is from 1912.
UPDATE: I took this machine apart to have spare parts for my other Stoewer Record machines. These include the key lever springs, the key knobs, the carriage spring housing, the line alignment plates, all type levers, the front panel with the 4 mounting screws, the paper tray, and the Butterfly paper holder, or lyre paper holder as it's also called. Various screws, the lifting nipple for the pull cord. After the machine was disassembled, the remaining parts were disposed of as scrap metal. The machine was part of the collection at They will leave on July 30, 2026.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Stoewer Record on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Stoewer Serial Number page and the Stoewer Record By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
