Description:
This is a very rare Piccola, which is an early Corona 3 that was branded for sale by a Berlin company that primarily sold typewriters in Germany and Austria. Mechanically it’s identical to the earliest Corona 3 typewriters. This is one of about a dozen that are known to still exist.
This one is serial number 21841, which means it was very early because Corona 3 production began at 20000. It has all of the earliest features; note its lack of a pigeon Iogo, the straight ribbon selector, and the pivot bar segment. I purchased this one from a collector in Serbia.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Corona-Piccola Piccola on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Corona-Piccola Serial Number page and the Corona-Piccola Piccola By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
