Description:
This Royal Standard #1 is shown following repairs and cleaning. The missing draw band has been replaced, and all rubber has replaced. All keys strike freely.
A degraded surface finish was obscuring the decal clarity. Removing this top finish reveled the outlines of a second decal set. I guess this unit had been restored at sometime in the past. I halted the finish cleaning to preserve the history. A type sample has been added. Upper/Lower adjustments are still needed.
Before and after photos are included

I have been collecting, restoring, and repairing, for a bit over 2 years now. The Majority of my collection is Mid and early century, and my preferred period is developing more to 19th century and early 20th. I am currently seeking more 19th century models to add to the collection.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal 1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal 1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
