Basket case revival. It types! Came to me in pieces missing carriage bearing/rails. Frankenstein-ed carriage bearing rails from a Remington Noiseless 6. The thing is the quietest for certain, far more scientific instrument than typewriter, so much aluminum and so well finsihed. The whole typing action hate is just meh, they measured the already poor women by typing speed, what scoundrels! I don't love the typing action, but I don't reject it. That carriage advance is almost completely noiseless, for certain it is perfectly civilized and not a jolt as almost every other typewriter does. All the cast iron for certain helped in making it "Noiseless".

Born and raised less than a quarter mile from The Noiseless factory in Middletown, CT. I've fought with the why. Why do I like typewriters when I always was interested in 'tech'. I guess for their day, they were high tech. I've acquiesced that for me the "Rube Goldberg" nature of complex mechanics is the main draw.
