Description:
I found this Yost at a flea market. The seller obviously had no idea what he was selling, as he only wanted €30 for it. In 2023 I bought a New Yost 1 with underpremium . I knew that the Yost also came with a front stroke and that these machines had an ink pad and a peculiar typebar movement. But I had never seen a Yost with front flap in real life, only in pictures. The machine is a bit dirty and a bit rusty, The B key is not working; a connecting rod between the key lever and a pull lever is broken. Furthermore, the tab brake is not working. The tab key No. 2 is Broken off, and tab stop number 4 is missing. The paper pressure fingers and carriage release lever are quite rusty.

I come from southern Germany and have been collecting historical typewriters for 10 years. I'm interested in the antique machines built before 1945. All machines built after 1945 are not used for collecting but for writing
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Yost 15 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Yost Serial Number page and the Yost 15 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
