Description:
I bought this beautiful Mignon 2 on December 5, 2025, at a collectors' meeting in Switzerland. This Mignon 2 is an early black version, which can be recognized by the large gap between Drawing field and gallows, as well as the attachment of the pointer spring plates, which are screwed in on this machine. These technical details also apply to the Red Mignon 2. In later versions On the Black Mignon 2, the gallows are positioned slightly away from the drawing area, and the pointer spring plates are attached with rivets. Except for one spring plate, which is attached to the gallows by a screw.

I come from southern Germany and have been collecting historical typewriters for 10 years. I'm interested in the antique machines built before 1945. All machines built after 1945 are not used for collecting but for writing
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Mignon 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Mignon Serial Number page and the Mignon 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
