Description:
This is an unusual specimen as the typewriter still has plastic keys like on the late empire Adler machines and no backspace lever, but the lid is from an Adler model 7. The ribbon direction shift has been modified to work via a small lever protruding from under the lid. The artwork on the lid is special too. It might be a professional job from a 1950s workshop, fixing up a wartime damaged empire to work again as typewriters were scarce. The Phoenix decal chosen seems to fit well to that "reborn from the ashes" theme of the time. Another small detail of note is that the bar for shifting the carriage on the underside view is in a different location than any other empire I have seen to date.
