Found in Almonte, Ontario as is, but missing the wood base.
This 1897 model has a Canada French keyboard, a rare occurrence, and is the earliest machine with a French Qwerty keyboard layout that I know of.
The mechanism seems to work, as far as I can tell right after buying it. Will be restoring it as best I can.

Bonjour! I am from the region of Montreal, Quebec and moved to Ottawa, Ontario in 1992.
