Description:
The Rem-Sho Fay-Sho 2 typewriter. It started off being a Rem-Sho built around 1896 and was rebuilt sometime between 1901 and 1905 when Rem-Sho lost a case against Remington for supposed unlawful use of their name. Luckily for Rem-Sho, SCOTUS overturned the ruling in 1905 and they were allowed to use their name again, which they did with their visible line.
This example has many of the characteristics of a Rem-Sho 2 machine, like the position of the bell and the margin rack, among other things. Even though it says Fay-Sho on the plack, it's clearly not always been a Fay-Sho. That's why I wanted to put this in the Rem-Sho category.

22 year old Dutch collector. Interested in any era of typewriters except for most post 1980's machines.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Rem-Sho 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Rem-Sho Serial Number page and the Rem-Sho 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
