1896 Munson No. 3
9731
This is a rare Munson No. 3, which concluded the Munson line of typewriters. Serials for the Munson No. 3 ran from approximately 9650 to 11000, so this was among the earliest ones produced. In 1898 the production rights were sold to Edgar A. Hill, who founded the Chicago Writing Machines Co. The Munson No. 3 was slightly changed and rebranded as the Chicago.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Munson 3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Munson Serial Number page and the Munson 3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
