Description:
I believe this Caligraph 3 dates to 1890 based on the low serial number & the Etcetera # 40 Article 09/1997. The machine has seventy-eight (78) keys.
The "3"on the decal was painted on. Perhaps this is a reproduction "2" decal and a previous owner painted on the "3". Though the paint appears to be very old and the decal feels aged. Overall This machine is in great shape. Missing some key caps and the carriage does not advance on its own (needs a nudge). The main spring is intact. Needs a good cleaning . The writing machine came with a wooden cover, but I'm not sure it belongs with this machine. I would assume any cover would be metal.
