Description:
The Pocket was one of the smallest typewriters ever produced. It's an index typewriter that lacks a carriage so, as a result, the entire machine moves along a sheet of paper while it's being used. A later No.2 model had larger rubber type but fewer total characters. Both were manufactured at Swan Arcade in Bradford, England.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Pocket No.1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Pocket Serial Number page and the Pocket No.1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
