1924 Corona 4

Serial #G4E00090

Sighted at Mesa Typewriter Exchange. Bruce Green Corona 4 manufactured in July/Aug 1924.

This was either the 90th Corona 4 ever manufactured, or was the 90th one made in July/Aug 1924, depending on when Corona began the habit of restarting serial numbers every 2 months. S.L. Johnson suggests that started in 1926, but I suspect Corona probably made more than 90 machines in the first 6 months of the run, so they may have restarted serial numbers every 2 months all the way back in 1924.

Either way, it's a data point to consider, and I felt it was worth including for future researchers. Plus it's in magnificent condition! :D

I am a scoundrel without a cause, and my swank outshines the sun.

I am a casual Typewriter Hunter residing in the sweltering deserts of Arizona with a wife, three cats and about 40 typewriters. My main hunting ground is thrift stores, and I rarely pay more than $10 for a machine.
