Got my first Hermes 3000, and after typing a couple of lines I can now understand why people like it. Very smooth. I paid 40 bucks for it, which makes this my most expensive typewriter so far. I think this has at some point had a cover (the paint is a bit damaged around the area where the cover would touch the frame), but it has gone missing, I got only a dust cover - which was torn as they often are, but nicely repaired by the previous owner.
A sticker (with old gooey glue) told the machine had been maintained in a shop yearly in the 80's, last marking being 1986. One or two rarely used keys got stuck a bit, but I bet a good cleaning will improve things considerably.
The knobs on this unit seem a bit different somehow? At least they are not like the 3D printed ones you can see in teh Internets.
This unit also has a wide carriage; a bit difficult to notice from the pics maybe, but the paper in the pictures is portrait A4.
