Description:

The Alpina SK24 rubber feet protrude throught the bottom of the case: no extra feet for the case.
The case's lock has a simple mechanism that moves the latch dowm and then away from the bottom hook when opening.
The machine has a steel cover, a plastic body and an aluminium chassis.
The carriage is easily removed from the base.
The CR lever is rotated 90 degrees and locked into inboard position before storage
The carriage/ roller is locked in both axial and vertical direction before storage
For capital letters, the shift key has to lift only the rubber roller, not the complete carriage

pretension adjustment of typeforce and on eo the two pinscrew that hold the cover and bolt the housing to the chassis

the quirky part on the right is hanging from the screw and is free to turn under gravity. It has a notch just left of the screwhead. At each space command (from a type or the spacebar) it is kicked out of the way and it returns to its steady state position. Its function is to prevent the main escapament wheel to turn CCW when doing a carriage return.

As a retired product development engineer, I am fascinated by the design of electro-mechanical products in which parts move, make noise and, preferably, radiate a little heat. Most preferred are products that are operated by keys, like typewriters, accordeons and pianos.
My genetics and statistics on lifetime expectancy suggest that it is time for me to let you know about the fantastic design, product engineering and manuacturing skills of the generation before mine. I salute mr. Munk for the opportunity that he has created for me to show it to the world. Okay, a bit bombastic.
