1899 Franklin 7 Serial # 14688 1899 Franklin 7 typewriter, Serial # 14688 Mark Schrad's 1899 Franklin 7 typewriter. 2023-08-10 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Mark Schrad: 1899 Franklin 7 Serial # 14688 This Franklin 7 came from the Bob Aubert collection, of Delran, NJ in July of 2023. It was in a tote, in pieces, needing a lot of attention. But he had already put a new front feed roller on it, and looked like he had a length of rubber with the proper inside diameter ready to go. So I cut down the rubber, pared it down, adhered it to the core, and slowly re-built the machine around it. It is not great--might need to take another 0.5mm off the platen--but I was able to coax a writing sample out of it, which is something.
