Description:
Plastic wedges are everywhere in thrift stores now, but someday they won't be, and I'm sure there will be collectors who prize these daisywheel electronic typewriters as much as I prize my Corona 4. I bought it for nostalgic reasons, and heck, it works great. You could really do a lot worse for a writing machine.
UPDATE: Confirmed year by publication date of AX-28 Service manual and by serial number:
7< year code
10< style code
10335< serial number
There is no letter code for the production month on this serial number, but I've noticed that happens sometimes with Brother serial numbers all the way back to the 1960's. Even the wedges serial numbers will likely usually be preceded by a letter indicating the month of production, using the standard Brother letter-code.

I am a scoundrel without a cause, and my swank outshines the sun.
I am a casual Typewriter Hunter residing in the sweltering deserts of Arizona with a wife, three cats and about 50 typewriters. My main hunting ground is thrift stores, and I rarely pay more than $10 for a machine. My collection consists mainly of portables with cases, and they stay in the cases unless I am actively using it (usually more than one at a time). I do, however keep a handful of interesting Selectrics, including a Composer and a couple of large Nakajima Electronics to use as daisywheel printers for my vintage laptop collection.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Brother AX-28 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Brother Serial Number page and the Brother AX-28 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
