1969 Remington (Brother) 711 Serial # C9288624 1969 Remington (Brother) 711 typewriter, Serial # C9288624 Lupo Cuore's 1969 Remington (Brother) 711 typewriter. 2023-07-17 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Lupo Cuore: 1969 Remington (Brother) 711 Serial # C9288624 Hard to figure where to put this - when I see Sperry Rand (Remington) that implies only Sperry Rand is on the cover but it's actually a Remington, and this has both, but as this is another variation on the Brother JP2, and the 700 is here, I put this one here too. Standard Elite typeface. I like the color, it's mid-century modern and one I don't have on any other machines in the collection. Stands out among them certainly. Still getting all the goo out of things - didn't look dirty inside, but yeah, hardened lubes and all. And, its return band snapped, probably right at the end where it attaches to the carriage, which I'll need to put right. It's on its way though! Edit 7/17/23: All fixed! It types comfortably, I can go pretty fast. I question the wisdom of the vertical repeat-space key just to the left of the left shift key - I'm left handed and use that key and hit it more than once in the process of shifting. Note the location of the tiny tab key nestled in the return key.

Here's a neat little design feature: The lid is deliberately indented towards the rear, you have to hook the rear side and then swing the front down to snap it in place. Can't think of another machine with that design.
