1963 Underwood 18 Serial # 501481 1963 Underwood 18 typewriter, Serial # 501481 Mitchell Dayton's 1963 Underwood 18 typewriter. 2023-12-11 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Mitchell Dayton: 1963 Underwood 18 Serial # 501481 Just picked this machine up from TB Writers Plus in Dayton, OH. Apparently these are rebadged Antares Domus typewriters, made in Italy. Machine performs excellent, and has an unusually light touch in my opinion. Only negative is the slightly clattery sound of the mechanism. May even consider treating this one to a fresh platen in the future. A fantastic (and somewhat unusual) addition to my ultra-portable stable.

Just picked this machine up from TB Writers Plus in Dayton, OH. Apparently these are rebadged Antares Domus typewriters, made in Italy. This is a real mystery. You might notice from the type sample, the "8" has a funny little accent character stuck on it. Well, the actual type-slug is intentionally made that way. Why? I haven't a clue...
