Description:
Ton S. convinced me to give this model another try, with a machine made in Ivrea. Sure enough, it's a keeper!
This machine was sold in Amsterdam. The keys with $ and ¢ signs look a little crude, and the type slugs for those characters show signs of adaptation. So this was presumably a custom-made keyboard for an American user, perhaps adapted from a Dutch machine.
It came with a nice little cover and a case.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 22 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 22 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
