The Typewriter Database 1937 Remington 11 Serial # T33875 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Gerald Ambrose: 1937 Remington 11 Serial # T33875 I found this on ebay in 2012 and had no idea what it was other than it was similar to a desktop noiseless. The '11' on the front did little to help as Remington Standard 11's kept coming up when I would google the model. I did find one similar one at that time but there was no information on it.

It was only after I got it that a fellow collector sent me a picture of an ad for the machine from the mid-30s calling it the "Short Stroke."

It is a very unique machine and I guess it can be considered a desktop "noisy-noiseless".

On another note, the typebars seem to be the same as a regular noiseless machine with the counterweight.

Update: I have uploaded the picture that was sent to me in 2012/2013 of the Remington 11 "Short Stroke" advertisement. It was sent to me by another collector who I asked for help identifying this machine.

Left the collection on 8/26/2016.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
