I live in Colorado Springs, and in addition to loving the Colorado outdoors and my 125 year old house, I'm a researcher, author, and avid writer of essays, fiction, poetry, and observations about the crazy world. I've long been a collector of fountain pens, which were my primary form of analog writing, but in early 2026 I fell down the typewriter rabbit hole big time. As of this writing (April 2026), I own 18 machines and counting. I love the hunt, learning about the history and all the makers and models and mechanisms, I love to clean and restore and reclaim old machines, and mostly I love to write on these brilliant physical instruments.
