51 Points, Typewriter Hunter
In 2020, during the pandemic, it started as a romantic project: I thought it would be nice to "analogize" the first e-mails between my wife an me as classic love-letters as a gift for her. I started to inform myself what typewriter would be "the perfect one" for the job - resulted in buying an Olympia SM3 AND a Hermes Rocket for little money in good condition. Cleaned them and started writing and was surprised - it was satisfying in a way I didn't expect. This tactile experience of tack-tack-tack-ding with imprints on a paper, these high-quality machines which do their duty after 50 years and more, just by cleaning (comparing with any PC) were amazing and did trigger something in me. Digital is nice, but virtual - analog is real ;-) It's different and gives you something else - it's worth keeping typewriters alife. PS.: Still didn't finish the letters and ended up in collecting typewriters ;-)
