I bought my first four typewriters at auction in September 2025, three lovely non-working antiques and one Remie Scout that semi-functioned and became the trainer typewriter (to be fair, the Remie Scout is still my favorite.) My first fully-functioning typewriter was a 1953 Smith Corona Silent, but my true love is 1930s portables with some bleed into the 1920s and 1940s, and a standing exception for Olympic SM2-4s.
