1 Points, Typewriter Hunter

I'm an author of children's books that center queer, Jewish, and neurodivergent characters (e.g., Ana on the Edge, Ellen Outside the Lines, etc.) who has always had an appreciation for typewriters. My first experience was with an electric IBM that was used as a label maker at a college job in the early aughts. I later was gifted a Sears Tower (late 1940s/early 1950s) in 2021. It wasn't until 2024 that I started avidly collecting however. Now, I own nine with varying levels of workability and I hope to learn more about repairing them through self-teaching and via other typewriter enthusiasts. I would love to be able to share the fun of writing on a typewriter with young readers, as well as continue hunting for some unusual machines to add to my collection, particularly typewriters with non-standard keyboards (e.g., Hebrew, Arabic, Cyrillic, etc.). When I'm not writing and assisting a literary agent for work, I also love traveling and figure skating.
