Engineer/tinkerer. I understand basic mechanical principles and can typically fake my way through repairing objects I'm not familiar with through sheer gumption; but I'm a complete neophyte to the world of mechanical typewriters. Just purchased my first portable typewriter, an Erika 9, but I can see this becoming a serious addition very quickly.

Sincerely hoping to gain a deeper, informed understanding of both operation and repairs via the resources granted to Typewriter Hunter-level members.
